India Art Fair is South Asia’s leading platform for modern and contemporary art and portal to the region’s cultural landscape. Founded in 2008, India Art Fair has become the bedrock of a now booming cultural community with connections to every level of the market and Nepal Art Council is participating with 7 contemporary artists at this prestigious fair in Delhi: January 28-31 2016, BOOTH B14!
The thematic focus of the presentation is a selection of seven contemporary Nepali artists, whose works represent a wide diversity in media and visual expression. Highlights include works which transcend the dichotomy of traditional/contemporary; social and political commentary and migrant identity or pure conceptual and formal works and political performance stills.
It is the first time that the art work of top Nepali contemporary artists is curated and exhibited at such an internationally recognized art forum.
The participating artist are Bidhata KC, Sheelasha Rajbhandari, Hitmaan Gurung, Manish Harijan, Samundra Man Singh Shrestha, Birendra Pratap Singh, and Asha Dangol.
The artworks have been meticulously curated by Dr. Dina Bangdel, Board Member of NAC and Director of Art History VCUQatar, who is also a speaker at the event.
